JustWork Board of Directors Treasurer Job Description Volunteer Board Commitment • Participate in strategic fundraising activities and promote JustWork to potential supporters, clients and volunteers within your network. • Contribute your expertise and time to support board functions. • Attend approximately five regularly-scheduled board meetings, occasional ad hoc meetings, relevant committee meetings and periodic fundraising events. • Make a personal financial contribution to JustWork that is meaningful (e.g., among your top three supported causes). • Serve on one or more board committees, either as a committee chair or board liaison. Treasurer Position • Keeps financial reports on file. Ensures accurate account of JW’s receipts and disbursements • Acts as signing officer • Provides oversight of financial records, yearly audit and accounts payable. Liaises with bookkeeper and auditor as needed • Sees that necessary financial reports are completed and filed • Provides financial statements to Board of Directors and others as required. • Chairs Finance Committee Finance Committee • Establish a budget in consultation with the Executive Director for approval by the full Board • Ensure administrative tasks are completed, including: o Financial statements and updates for Board meetings o Charitable donation tax receipts o Database of supporters o Appropriate liability insurance o Annual audit of the accounts
