Central to our organization's aim is the social value of creating working contexts where those with some kind of disability or working barrier can become agents of their own transformation. Based on a social enterprise model, since 2006 we've successfully blended financial and social goals to invite over 25 employees per year to participate in the workforce. Below is a collection of what others are saying about us, as well as some slides showing how we're affecting the community.
Through providing spaces for meaningful and dignifying work to people facing barriers, we've helped many find inspiration, purpose and hope. People and relationships are at the core of our mission. Take a look at this stories of community.
The number of hours worked by our employees has jumped from 400 to 3,300 since 2006. In the process, they've learned job skills, contributed to a strong work community, gained confidence in themselves, and delivered quality work to our customers. In fact, thanks to the efforts of our employees, we have a growing customer base and revenues that have increased from $33,000 in 2006 to more than $505,000 in 2012 (an increase of over 1530%).
